There are no stencils, no digital prints, and no machines involved at any stage. Because of this, no two Archanamuse sarees are ever identical — each one carries the unique imprint of the artist's hand.

Where does Madhubani art come from?

You’re looking at one of India’s oldest living folk arts, born in the Mithila region of Bihar. It began on mud walls, where women painted festivals, weddings, and prayers with natural colours from plants, flowers, and minerals. Today, those same fish, peacocks, lotus blooms, and mythic scenes travel onto silk, carrying centuries of memory in every brushstroke.

How do I care for a hand-painted silk saree?

Hand-painted silk sarees are best dry cleaned to preserve both the silk and the natural dye colours — this is the single most important care step. If you prefer home washing, use cold water with a very mild detergent, handle gently by hand, and never wring or twist the fabric. Always dry flat in the shade away from direct sunlight, and when ironing, use a low setting on the reverse side only — never apply an iron directly to the painted surface.

Will the colours and motifs look exactly like the photos?
